May 2010
Dear Neighbors,
Have you seen the exciting changes happening at our library?
Sometimes the simplest updates make a big impact.
Rooms are brighter, fixtures have been moved to encourage
browsing, and our collection of books and media have been
infused with newness. In a time of economic
uncertainty, it is nice to know that our public library
continues to be a place of information and inspiration.
In the months ahead, the Friends are looking to support
these exciting initiatives:
-
Expanding the popular DVD
collection
-
Maximizing use of the
existing floor space with improved fixtures
-
Creating quiet study
spaces for reading and personal computer use
-
Adding to the Anime
graphic novel series for young adults
-
Funding Adult and
Children's events, including the summer reading program
If you have joined the Friends in the past, we offer our
sincere thanks and hope that you will continue to support
us. To those who are considering supporting us with a
contribution, we also encourage you to get involved.
Being a Friend doesn't require a lot of time. You can
visit any of our monthly meetings, held the second Tuesday
of every month, September through June. No time for
meetings? Volunteers are always needed to help with
book sales and special projects throughout the year.
Things are really looking different at the Midland Park
Library. Please give what you can to help enhance
these ongoing improvements. And be sure to stop by our
library and see the positive changes for yourself.
Sincerely,
Carmenza Perez, President
Friends of
the Midland Park Memorial Library monthly meetings are at 7:30
pm on the second Tuesday of each month, usually in the
library’s Englishman Room (downstairs). Anyone interested in
becoming an active volunteer on one of our many ongoing
projects is invited to visit one of our meetings. We would
love to meet you.
